What is the trend for writers and publishers for 2022?

Yes, that is the million-dollar question, or should I no say the billion-dollar question? E-books and audio books are continuing to increase in market share, and with new technological advances, will continue to see such in the future. I think this is undebatable. Sure, you will have those who love hard covers and paperback which will never change.

Publishers are in business to make money and the cost of publishing physical books and marketing them keeps going up. I also had to raise my books since the cost of paper and shipping as skyrocketed this last year, so it affects everyone. You also have problems with bookstore closings around the world, shipping delays, the covid thing, etc.

Next, is the new technology which can incorporate so many additional features into an entertainment venue of a story. Look for this to explode next year due to the metauniverse. With many people enjoy pretending to be the character in a book, look for the ability to see your self as an aviator in the book as you read it, look for you to be able to change the voice in an e-book to fit your desires better.

So much will change as always, but a good story is a good story, so keep creating and let the forces be that will take it to the next level.

I just added a new way to follow by e-mail that you need to use since feedburner is no more. See the signup in the right-side panel.
